Park City’s Beloved Canyons Resort Announces New Food and Beverage Team
According to The Canyons press release this morning, Utah’s largest resort is excited to announce several changes within their Food and Beverage team. Most resorts in Park City are busy preparing new winter menus and are beginning to staff up for the seasons, and The Canyons is thrilled to have newly appointed Chef Clement Gelas assisting their team. Gelas will be heading up the F & B team at The Grand Summit Hotel as their Executive Chef. Originally from Boenge France, Gelas has spent time showcasing his talent in France, New York, and in 2005 made the move to Utah where he was the Executive Chef at Bill White’s Wahso.
In 2008, Chef John Murcko of The Talisker Club approached Gelas and invited him to join the Talisker culinary team. At Talisker, Gelas was responsible for the Tuhaye Table Café. Now, as Executive Chef of The Grand Summit Hotel, Gelas is responsible for menu creation at The Cabin restaurant, Doc’s at The Gondola, and First Tracks Café. Gelas will be working to incorporate seasonal menus using local products and styles from his home country at each of these places and looks forward to the upcoming winter season.” – The Canyons Press Release
The Canyons is also excited about introducing Ali Kelly who is the new General Manager of The Cabin restaurant. The Cabin Restaurant is located in The Grand Summit Hotel and their menu menu boasts signature items including Buffalo Tenderloin and Tempura Battered Utah Trout. To compliment this exceptional menu, they offer an award winning wine list recognized by Wine Spectator.
Kelly will oversee the restaurant’s front end dining experience. She comes to The Canyons from The New Yorker in Salt Lake City, where she served as Manager for three years. Kelly is a native of Seattle, Washington, where she honed her fine dining and management skills in various restaurants and resorts throughout the Pacific Northwest. She is thrilled to have joined the team at The Canyons Resort and looks forward to an amazing season. Kelly has lived in Utah for six years with her husband and two children.” The Canyons Press Release
