Market Hall at Kimball Junction in Park City Opening This Weekend
If you are anything like me, you are probably experiencing dry heaves, the shakes, and the many other withdrawal symptoms now that farmer’s market season is over. But fret not all you Silly Sunday fiends, there is a new winter-friendly indoor co-op opening this weekend and they’ve got you covered! Sing it with me people…HALLELUJAH!!!!!!

The Market Hall is an indoor year round “market” dedicated to bringing the best of local Wasatch businesses to you! That’s right, weep no more you market junkies! You now have a place to purchase all of your sustainable goods under one roof.
The Market Hall’s Grand Opening is this Saturday, November 7th from 10:00am – 7:00pm.
This weekend they will feature local healthy products for sale and will be partying with drinks from Molly Blooms along with fire dancing and belly dancing. So far, Market Hall vendors include Calcium Springs Farm, The Original Way, Totally Gourmet, Orion’s Music, Silver Rose Bakery, Volker’s Bakery, Treehugger Granola, Canyon Meadows Beer, Flying Fish Seafood, and Lu Anne’s Cupcakes.
So who is The Market Hall?
Well, according to their website, “The Market Hall is the first project for a new non-profit in summit county called Responsible Communities. The organization has applied for non-profit status and was started by Kurt Von Puttkammer and Jesse Swing. Together their mission is to stimulate local community by bringing people together in a sustainable fashion. It is our goal to provide grant incentives to businesses in Summit County that are making sustainable choices. To show our own commitment to sustainable growth our Market Hall is powered by solar power! The Market Hall has 4 retail spaces in the center of the indoor space that change on a weekly basis with a theme that supports a different part of the community each week. It is our goal to eventually make these spaces free to the community! This way everyone in the community has a chance to share their product or services in a community fashion. The Market Hall has 11 spaces for local businesses to rent on a monthly basis working
together in one market place at an affordable price, offering office space and a retail space to local sustainable businesses in the Wasatch region.”
So far, it looks like The Market Hall in Park City will have 14 spaces with both office and retail spaces available. These spaces will be rented out on a monthly basis for $300-$400 a month. Considering the ridiculously high retail leases in Park City, this is an incredible bargain for local vendors to sell and reach out to all of their adoring Parkites. 4 of these spaces will be change on a weekly basis and are rented for weekly rates. For more information on renting a space at The Market Hall, please visit TheMarketHall.org
The Market Hall will be open every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10:00am – 7:00pm. Every Thursday, they will feature a “Farmer’s Exchange” starting in the spring. Anyone who has excess produce can come in and trade it with the other farmers. The Market Hall is located between Park City Coffee Roasters and Molly Blooms near the Post Office at Kimball Junction.
Kevin and I will definitely be checking out this new market before hitting up the Park City Ski Swap this Saturday. So if you’re looking for something to do this weekend, make sure you head to Park City Coffee Roasters, grab a soy latte, and then check out what’s local in town. See you there!
