The Top Ten Best Family Restaurants in Park City
1. Grub Steak
This long-time local’s favorite is a Park City tradition. Serving up excellent steaks and seafood, Grub Steak takes you back to the classic days of Park City. Its large, open dining room is perfect for families and groups of all sizes. Their Young Adult Menu features a large selection of reasonably priced entrees for kids 14 and under. Your kids will love the Burger, Mac and Cheese, Quesadilla or Tender Baby Back Ribs. They also have a separate Children’s Menu for kids under the age of 10, with smaller portions and lower prices. Grub Steak also features a 45 item salad bar, fresh breads, and a wide selection of hand cut steaks, wild game and seafood. There is a reason this restaurant is one of the oldest in Park City – Grub Steak has consistently pleased guests with great food and great service for over 30 years.
This newer restaurant at Kimball Junction has quickly become a Park City favorite. While they do not have a specific children’s menu, their East Coast style pizzas are perfect for sharing with kids. Their Fat Kid Pizzas are the large, thin crust variety and come with all types of fresh toppings. With a multitude of flat screen TVs, a large outdoor patio with beanbag toss games, and live music, the atmosphere can get loud, but it is great for families and larger groups with kids. The dinner menu includes fresh, homemade pastas and a variety of shareable appetizers. Your kids will love Maxwell’s.
Located at the top of Main Street, Cisero’s is always a hit with families. From the free toy bin at the entrance, to the white paper tablecloths with crayons for drawing on them, Cisero’s is perfect for kids. Dining on Main Street Park City can be expensive, but Cisero’s is one of the better values. They have a wide array of Italian pasta dishes, along with grilled meats and seafood served the Italian way. You kids will love the made to order Italian Cream Sodas, and make sure to save room for the giant, warm chocolate chip cookie dessert – you’ll thanks me later.
One of our most reviewed restaurants in Park City, Bandits’ consistently serves up generous portions of great tasting BBQ. Along with traditional BBQ favorites like Tri Tip and Baby Back Ribs, Bandits’ also features grilled seafood, delicious sandwiches, salads and burgers. Their kids menu includes smaller portions of their famous BBQ, along with items like Corn Dogs and Grilled Cheese. The atmosphere at Bandits’ is great for kids with large booths, and open floorplan, and lots of Western antiques and cowboy pictures to check out. For adults, Bandits’ features a full bar and incredible side dishes with all entrees (check out the yams or green beans).
5. Red Rock
Red Rock at Kimball Junction is always a popular choice for families. Located about 30 steps from the Redstone 8 Cinemas, Red Rock makes a great pre-movie dinner location. The tables at Red Rock can be combined for larger groups, and the atmosphere is great for kids. A large open kitchen and high noise level ensure your rowdy young ones won’t disturb the other guests. Its menu features mostly American pub favorites like sandwiches, salads, pizza, pasta, and specialty entrees like Rotisserie Chicken and Halibut Fish and Chips. Red Rock puts their own twist on the traditional pub menu with items like Sweet Potato Cannelloni and Chicken Schnitzel; both are excellent. Also be sure to check out their craft beers and brewed sodas – they are some of the best in Utah. If you still have room after dinner and a movie, make sure to stop by Coldstone, which is right next door.
6. Baja Cantina
Located at the base of Park City Mountain Resort, just a few steps from the Payday Chairlift, Baja Cantina is a perpetual family favorite in Park City. After a long day on the mountain, your family will love their unlimited chips and salsa and large Mexican platters. For over 25 years, Baja has provided great service in a fun cantina atmosphere that your kids will enjoy. The adults in your group will also love their full bar with premium tequilas and excellent margaritas. If you are up at Park City Mountain Resort with your family, Baja is an excellent choice. Just be prepared, the wait for a table can be long during peak hours.
7. Blue Iguana
New to Main Street last year, the Blue Iguana brings its traditional Mexican cooking to Park City from its signature location downtown Salt Lake City. The prices at Blue Iguana are what you would expect on Main Street, but the portions are generous and the free chips and salsa keeps coming. A separate kids menu is available if your children want smaller portions or don’t traditional menu items like enchiladas or burritos. The outdoor patio at Blue Iguana is one of the best on Main Street in the summer.
8. Last Samurai
If you are looking for a departure from the traditional restaurant experience, your should check out the Last Samurai with your family. This Japanese Steakhouse brings your chef to you, with all the seating surrounding hibachi grills. The chefs at Last Samurai are true culinary artists, and your kids will love watching their entertaining cooking techniques. From tossing shrimp into your mouth directly from the grill, to flaming volcanoes, you will be in constant amazement. The food is consistent with other Japanese steakhouses around the country, and the prices are on par with similar Park City restaurants. Last Samurai makes the top 10 because it is a dining experience your family will remember for some time.
Loco Lizard Cantina breaks into the top ten because of its great prices, fun and festive atmosphere, and excellent Mexican recipes. All of the food at Loco Lizard is made in house daily, and their sauces and salsas are amazing because of it. A separate kids menu is available, but older children will love many of the signature items on the Loco Lizard Menu. Make sure to check out the Enchiladas Suizas and the pork Carnitas, both are top notch. In the summer, request an outside table as their patio is a great place for a family dinner that won’t break the bank.
This extremely busy restaurant on Main Street is a constant favorite with families visiting Park City. One of the only quick dining, very casual restaurants on the street, Main Street Pizza and Noodle serves pizzas that are great for sharing, along with traditional Italian pasta dishes, salads, sandwiches and calzones. A kids menu is available for those that want something a little smaller, like grilled cheese, kids spaghetti, or a junior cheeseburger. At Main Street Pizza and Noodle, you order at the counter, find a table, and a server will bring your food to you. The pizza here is not the best in town, but if you are on Main Street with hungry kids, it is a great option that won’t cost you a fortune.
