aWok Away Brings Chinese Takeout to Prospector
Looking for quick Chinese takeout in Park City without having to drive out to the Junction? Until a few weeks ago there were no Chinese options in town, but that has changed with the recent opening of aWok Away in Prospector. Located on the corner of Bonanza and Prospector, aWok Away features a menu of over 75 Chinese entrees, noodle dishes, soups and appetizers.
aWok Away has taken over the space formerly occupied by Souperman, in the same Bonanza mall as businesses like El Chubasco and Einstein Bros Bagels. Local owner Soo Chyung, who has found success with his other restaurant, Yuki Arashi on Main Street, opened aWok Away to fill the void of a quick and flavorful Chinese take-out restaurant in the town area of Park City. He wants aWok Away to be convenient and reasonably priced, with the traditional Chinese flavors people come to expect with Chinese take-out.
The menu features chicken, pork, beef, seafood and vegetarian entrees like Kung Pao Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, Mongolian Beef and many others. They also feature a wide selection of Noodle and Fried Rice dishes. Entree prices range from $8.95 to $15.95 and the portions are generous (most come with steamed rice included). aWok Away uses fresh ingredients and does not use MSG.
You can call ahead for take-out, or just stop by to order and hang out in their small waiting area. All menu items are cooked fresh to order, but their chefs work quickly, so you won’t be waiting long. aWok Away also features delivery through Mountain Express (435-649-6369) or Speedy Fernandez (435-631-0040) so give them a call if you don’t feel like venturing out.
aWok Away has only been open a couple weeks, and they are currently still working on completing the renovations of the former Souperman space. Casey and I stopped by the other day to check them out, and ordered a couple entrees to take back home. The flavors are what you would expect from good Chinese take-out and we were satisfied with both the quality and the size of the entrees. I had enough General Tsao’s Chicken left over for a big lunch the next day. If you are looking for a quick and easy take-out meal with comfort food Chinese flavors, definitely give them a call.
They do not have a website of their own online yet, but see their complete menu, check out aWok Away on Ski Town Restaurants.
