Park City’s Most Beautiful and Hippest Wedding Venues

9 June 2011 By: Casey 10 Comments | Editor's Picks, featured, The Fall Line

So who thought that Summer was never going to arrive in Utah? I certainly had my doubts, that’s for sure! After a very snowy wet spring, the warm weather has finally arrived in Utah! And with the warm weather and blooming flowers, it’s the perfect time to start talking about weddings. Wait what!? Me + wedding advice? WHY on earth …oh wait- guess who just got engaged! That’s right,  I’m gettin’ hitched!

After six years of dating, Kevin popped the question in Laguna Beach last month and we are both super excited to start planning the perfect Park City Wedding! I figured since I run a food blog about Park City, I might as well drag you all with me through my wedding planning process just in case you are yearning for some Park City wedding inspiration. So let the planning begin.

First things first, where on earth should we do the deed?

Park City has a plethora of truly inspiring and incredible locations for a memorable and unforgettable wedding. Whether you are looking for a romantic quiet ceremony surrounded by mother nature or you want to have a rock-n-roll reception at a 5 star resort, Park City has it all. Here’s a quick breakdown of my 6 favorite Park City Wedding spots so far, in no particular order. Have some suggestions? Let me know where you got married or where you are looking. I sure could use the help!

Click on the venue name for quick access to each venues wedding/group web page.

1. The Canyons Resort

Romance, world-class lodging, and remarkable views. What more could you ask for? How about delectable catering, seven different locations/venues to choose from, and gondola rides for your guests! The Canyons is the largest ski resort in Utah and offers some incredible extra touches for your perfect day. The Canyons experienced staff is dedicated to offering the bulk of your wedding planning to ensure you have a relaxing  memorable experience – a no stress guarantee! The Canyons offers wedding decor packages, private bridal spa parties, lighting and sound packages, and linens of your choosing. Need some more Canyons romance inspiration? Check out their wedding planning blog showing off beautiful Canyons weddings and fun tips and tricks.

2. Deer Valley Resort

Grace, taste, and effortless superiority. Deer Valley creates weddings that families and guests will remember for years to come. With scenic mountain backdrops of Park City, three amazing lodges to choose from, and world famous cuisine, Deer Valley should be on your list of places to check out for your wedding. Deer Valley offers a huge array of menus,  chair lift rides, bar service, and lodging specials for your very special wedding party. Also, Deer Valley offers picture perfect wedding cakes. Check out their cake gallery even if you decide to get married somewhere else. You can’t go wrong with a Deer Valley cake!

3. High West Whiskey Distillery

If you’re not looking for the typical Park City resort themed wedding, make sure to check out Park City’s very own High West Whiskey Distillery. My friends are actually getting married there this summer and I CANNOT WAIT to go! High West offers an incredibly hip saloon atmosphere with a bit of elegance tossed in. High West has three floor plans for your wedding reception and can host up to 175 people.  Plus their chef James Dumas is fabulous at customizing menus for large groups and can contains up to six different entrees of your choice for your guests.

4. Kimball Art Center

Blame it on my inner art geek, but I can’t help imagining the perfect artsy wedding at Kimball Art Center. I love gallery spaces because they boast open floor plans, can be decorated with fabulous glam, and are a step away from the traditional typical wedding. Kimball offers 4 rental options for wedding events. The Main Gallery, Garage Gallery, Badami Gallery, and their amazing outdoor patio. Plus, having a wedding at Kimball Art Center is means that you are supporting an amazing center for the arts in Park City. Good causes and good times, a win win wedding!

5. Sky Lodge

Just steps up from the Kimball Art Center is my favorite lodge in Park City. The Sky Lodge is rich with contemporary flair and is the perfect spot for the modern hip bride. Plus they have fantastic catering, three great locations to pick from, and one of the best views of the mountains from Main Street. From booking the Sky Lodge Spa for your wedding party, taking over the wine room for a rehearsal dinner, or indulging in their famous cocktails from Sky Blue bar, you can be assured that you will be pampered like royalty. My personal favorite part of the Sky Lodge is the rooftop bar, the perfect spot for a rockin’ evening reception with views to die for! Imagine your wedding in a beautifully furnished rooftop bar decked out in style followed by sipping champagne and kissing your husband-to-be on the incredible patio overlooking Old Town. Picture perfect! Make sure to check it!

6. Riverhorse on Main

Whether you are having a small intimate reception or a large dinner party up to 200 of your closest family and friends, Riverhorse on Main is definitely a spot to check out for your wedding reception. Riverhorse has easily my favorite restaurant set-up in Utah. I’ve often told the manager that given the chance, I’d literally move right in to their large Soho Loft like space and call it my own. Plus, you just cannot beat their mouth-watering menus! With plenty of room for a live band, lots of dance space, an amazing patio overlooking Main Street, and 5 star 4 diamond pro service, Riverhorse might just offer one of the coolest wedding receptions in Park City.

Needless to say, there are a ton of other great Park City wedding venues that I didn’t list. I’m still in the process of checking out St. Regis, Waldorf Astoria, Park Meadow Country Club, and a few other Park City hotspots. Hopefully I’ll have those checked off my “to look at” list by the end of the month. I’ll keep you posted =). In the meantime, Happy Wedding Planning!

Great article.Curious what you think about a possible wedding in early November in Park City. Not our first choice for timing but that’s the way things are working out. What’s the city like at that time of year? Quiet, but totally dead?

Hi Robin, Congrats on your upcoming wedding! November in Park City is beautiful, but rather unpredictable. Some years its very snowy, others very sunny or rainy. I would plan for a winter themed wedding if planning in late November. Park City is very quiet during that month, but not entirely dead. Bars and restaurants are still open and your guests will enjoy the change of seasons in a ski town. Good luck with your planning!

My fiance and I are wanting to get Married November 11, 2011. We are just wanting a small intimate ceremony and no reception. What would be a good affordable place. We’d like to be in the mountains but not sure how the snow will be if there is any.

I’m trying to set up my wedding this next year possibly around June if I can, and absolutely love park city! my fiance actually proposed at one of the top of the mountains we hiked! I guess my question would be, in your opinion, where would be the best location for a wedding and reception that is within a reasonable budget, especially since we’re from a different state. Any information would be so helpful, and congratulations! :-)

Hi Melanie – Weddings in Park City are certainly more expensive than most areas since it’s a resort town, however, you can def. do it on a budget. I would suggest checking out Park City Mountain Resort and some of the local restaurants as they have great deals. Early June is a good time of year or anytime after mid-Sept. as those are the most affordable times in town for weddings. PCMR will likely be the most affordable of the resorts in Park City.
